In an unexpected crossover, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is set to appear in the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Jean-Pierre, 50, will be featured in a scene where she welcomes cast member Wendy Osefo to the White House for an interview as part of Osefo’s YouTube series, The Dr. Wendy Osefo Show. The trailer for the new season, released by Bravo on Thursday, teases their conversation as they stroll through the White House grounds.
“Welcome, Karine Jean-Pierre,” Osefo says as the clip shows them sitting down together. Jean-Pierre responds with, “Welcome to the White House,” marking her first foray into reality TV, told People.
According to a White House spokesperson, the interview was filmed in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, located adjacent to the White House. “The focus of the conversation was how the Biden-Harris administration is delivering historic results for Black communities, and the goal was to reach key and diverse audiences,” the spokesperson told The Daily Mail.
This isn’t the first time a Real Housewives star has made headlines involving the White House. Back in 2009, Real Housewives of DC cast member Michaele Salahi and her husband Tareq famously snuck into a state dinner hosted by President Barack Obama, where they were photographed with both the president and then-Vice President Joe Biden. That infamous gate-crashing incident drew national attention, and the show was canceled after just one season.
Joining Wendy Osefo in the ninth season of The Real Housewives of Potomac are fellow cast members Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Keiarna Stewart, Stacey Rusch, and Mia Thornton. Fans can catch the season premiere on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
