Recently, several members of the GOP actually admitted that their plans to make a mockery out of Joe Biden’s presidency aren’t, well, going according to plan. At all, really. Between Biden’s resounding success in less than 100 days in office and the Republican Party’s hard hit to their reputation following Donald Trump’s election conspiracy theories and the January 6th Capitol insurrection, the GOP is naturally scrambling around pretty hard to find some way to recoup some of their losses and gain some ground before the next election comes around.
As a result, it seems the ex-president and his favorite lapdog Lindsey Graham have cooked up a scheme to extort Republicans’ deep-seated love of golf with their willingness to spend insane amounts of money on extremely stupid things.
According to an email announcement today, Former President Trump and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham are teaming up for the Trump Graham Golf Classic, set to be held at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach on the 2nd of May, and the cost of entry is a hefty $25,000 per person.
The money acquired from the fundraiser will reportedly benefit a select few GOP political action committees as well as the Senate Republicans’ campaign arm, the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Graham, who has served as one of Trump’s staunchest allies over the past four years, has had a rocky relationship with former president over the years, once upon a time calling the former real estate “mogul” a “kook” and “unfit for office” and even criticized him as recently as within the last few months over Trump’s attempts to overturn the election.
However, Graham’s criticism of Donald never lasts long, and the South Carolina senator has already cozied back up to America’s biggest embarrassment and seemingly poised himself as a leader of the second MAGA movement.
Recently the senator, who plays golf with Trump often, declared that Donald Trump will remain an integral part of the GOP moving forward, despite all of his scandals.
“If he ran, it would be his nomination for the having,” Lindsey said of the ex-president in an interview earlier this year. “I don’t know what he wants to do. Because he was successful for conservatism and people appreciate his fighting spirit, he’s going to dominate the party for years to come. The way I look at it, there is no way we can achieve our goals without Trump.”
He also told Fox New’s Sean Hannity back in February, “We don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of taking back the majority without Donald Trump. If you don’t get that, you’re just not looking.”
