Abandoned Dog Bites Rescuer’s Hand Out Of Fear, But The Rescuer Doesn’t Give Up

When rescue group “Hope For Paws” heard about an abandoned “injured” dog named Jax limping painfully on the busy streets, rescuers JoAnn Wiltz and Katie McKittrick set out to bring him to safety. But Jax’s fear around strangers made him bolt off into the vast neighborhood. After an hour of chasing, the rescuers were able to confine him in a garage.

In this video, we see the rescuers striving to convince Jax to come out from his hiding space under a car. As they didn’t bring a gentle snare to aid the rescue, JoAnn decided to push her arm underneath the car to get to Jax. However, Jax was too panic-stricken to welcome the rescue effort.

Jax was overcome with fear the moment he found the rescue leash around his neck. He nervously jumped hither and thither as he snapped back at JoAnn, biting her hand in the process. Despite Jax’s hostile demeanor,  JoAnn didn’t back away and bravely soldiered on until she had secured him in a trap.

Once Jax found himself at the vet’s, he calmed down upon realizing that he was surrounded by well-meaning people. He was the sweetest little munchkin as he got a de-stressing bath! However, his medical examination revealed the real cause behind his limping, and it was pretty tragic.

Jax was born with a rare limb deformity where the bones of one of his hind legs never developed normally. His non-functional limb had to be amputated, but that made him a “less-desirable” special needs pup. Watch this heartwarming video till the end to see how Jax overcame his challenges and found his happy ending!
