A tragic accident early Sunday morning on U.S. 27 near Science Hill, Kentucky, claimed the life of 31-year-old Dino Collins from Cincinnati. According to Kentucky State Police (KSP), Collins was riding a moped around midnight when he was allegedly rear-ended by a 2014 Jeep Wrangler driven by 19-year-old Kayleigh Dismuke of Eubank, Kentucky, as reported by Fox56 News.
The collision’s impact reportedly threw Collins from his moped, leading to severe injuries. Emergency responders swiftly transported him to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Following the incident, KSP detained Dismuke at the scene. She now faces several charges, including vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol, first-offense driving under the influence, failure to wear a seat belt, and possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
This tragic event has cast a spotlight on the ongoing dangers of impaired driving, sparking concern and conversations about road safety within the local community.
