Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, who is expecting her first baby with her boyfriend Ken Urker, revealed that she will be living with her parents when she welcomes her baby girl in a few months. The 33-year-old, currently on parole, shared on The Viall Files podcast that due to the conditions of her parole, she will not be able to live with Urker after the birth and will need to stay with her parents.
“So I am still living with my parents in Cut Off, which is an hour away from [Urker],” Blanchard explained, referring to her father’s home in Louisiana. “I’m gonna be living there until I’m off parole. So we’re like, okay, how is this gonna work whenever the baby’s born? Like, how many days could I spend with you, and how many days can you spend with me?”
Blanchard’s parole restricts her from establishing her primary residence anywhere other than her parents’ home. As she told host Nick Viall, this restriction poses a challenge, particularly when it comes to co-parenting with Urker. The couple, although together, will essentially be practicing co-parenting while balancing the limitations imposed by her parole.
In an interview with People Magazine, Blanchard spoke candidly about her relationship with Urker, especially considering the complexity of their situation. The two were separated for five years before getting back together, and Blanchard admitted they are still navigating essential conversations around parenting and their future together. “Even though we have a history behind our relationship and a foundation, we’re just getting back together after a 5-year separation,” she said.
Blanchard emphasized that the unexpected pregnancy accelerated important discussions that many couples take time to address. “Here we are, a month in, and we’re already pregnant. So, those were really serious conversations we needed to have,” she added.
Blanchard is currently on parole until June 2025, and she explained that unless they were to get married, there’s no exception for couples having children to live together under her parole terms. Blanchard, still finalizing her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Anderson, stated she doesn’t want to pressure Urker into marriage solely because of the baby.
“If he wants to marry me, he will propose,” she noted, adding that she’s allowing him to make that decision on his own terms. For now, Blanchard is focused on preparing for the arrival of her baby girl and adjusting to life as a soon-to-be mother while managing the challenges of her parole.
