A gran who allegedly ran off with her pregnant daughter’s boyfriend reportedly said “these things happen” when asked about the scandal.
Jess Aldridge claimed that her partner Ryan Shelton broke up with her via text just hours after she had given birth.
By the time the devastated 24-year-old left the hospital, Ryan, 29, had allegedly ran off with her mum Georgina, 44, and moved into a new home 30 miles away.
Now, The Sun reports that when confronted about the alleged affair, Georgina said: “These things happen.”
Ryan reportedly said: “I don’t care what everyone thinks, I am in love with Georgina and I don’t care who knows about it.
“Other people’s opinions don’t bother me at all. I know what’s happened. There are two sides to every story and I know the truth behind all this.”
A family member told the newspaper that everybody was stunned and in disbelief at what had seemingly happened.
The new couple’s behaviour also reportedly sparked outrage from family and friends on social media.
Problems reportedly first began for the couple when Ryan moved into Jess’s family home in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, just before lockdown.
Jess, who already had baby Georgiana with car parts salesman Ryan in 2019, says she hoped mum-of-five Georgina and her 56-year-old husband Eric could help with childcare.
The living situation quickly became “very tough”, Jess said, and she claimed Ryan and her mum were being flirty, which made her feel uncomfortable.
On January 28, baby Reuben was delivered via C- section at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital while Jess’s sister, Carolena, 19, looked after Georgiana.
Just hours later Ryan allegedly sent her a text breaking things off and saying he was sick of Jess accusing him of having an affair with Georgina.
The now dad-of-two quickly visited Reuben on the day he was born and then again the day after to pack up his belongings, according to Jess.
Jess claims he was in a rush on the second visit because, she later found out, her mum was waiting for her in the car outside.
