Fake plastic surgeon arrested mid-procedure after ‘botching man’s nose job twice’

A “fake” plastic surgeon has been arrested for allegedly botching a man’s nose job twice and leaving him in “incredible” pain.

Alcalira Jimenez De Rodriguez, 56, was held after the patient claimed his face was disfigured in Doral, Florida in the US.

She was arrested while in the middle of performing another procedure on a different patient at the Millennium Anti-Aging and Surgery Centre last Thursday.

Jimenez De Rodriguez has been accused of pretending to be a licensed plastic surgeon.

Police began an investigation last month after a former patient, named as Vincenzo Zurlo, contacted them about his messed up rhinoplasty.

He reportedly paid $2,800 (£2,000) for both surgeries.

The patient saw her in February last year for the first operation.

Over the next few months saw his nose was not healing correctly, according to the Miami Herald.

He met with her again last May to repeat the surgery.

But he is said to have noticed his nose was not healing well and was deformed.

The patient reportedly became suspicious of her medical credentials.

He called Jimenez De Rodriguez and demanded her medical licence number and malpractice insurance information, but she did not give it.

Detectives sent in an undercover agent posing as a potential patient to catch her posing as a medic, according to reports.

Mr Zurlo claimed he will need another operation to fix what happened.

He told 7News : “The pain is incredible. She pretended to be a doctor, but she was not.

“I was asking if I was bleeding, how the surgery was going, so I saw her face ruining my life.

“I feel abused. I feel that somebody used me as a piece of meat, just because she decided that one day she would like to play a plastic surgeon.”

She has now been charged with practising medicine without a licence and resisting arrest without violence.

Authorities said the first charge was bumped up to a second-degree felony because of the disfigurement.

She is being held on a $5,000 bond (£3,500) at the Miami-Dade County Jail.
