Clint Eastwood, the Hollywood acting legend, is popular for his political opinions about Donald Trump. However, he supported former mayor of New York, Mike Bloomberg in 2013 U.S President Elections.
“The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there,” Eastwood told the Wall Street Journal, adding that, although he does approve of “certain things” Trump has said and done, he would prefer the now former-President to conduct himself “in a more genteel way, without tweeting and calling people names. I would personally like for him to not bring himself to that level.”
In 2016, the actor shared his thoughts on the secret to Trump’s political success, saying that Trump was “onto something” during his first Presidential campaign. The actor in his interview to Esquire said, “He’s onto something, because secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up. That’s the kiss-a** generation we’re in right now.” He further said, “The world is currently living in “a p***** generation” in which everybody is “walking on eggshells.” He added, “We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist.”
NME claimed the actor said, “All these people that say, ‘Oh, you can’t do that, and you can’t do this, and you can’t say that.’ I guess it’s just the times … What Trump is onto is he’s just saying what’s on his mind. And sometimes it’s not so good. And sometimes it’s … I mean, I can understand where he’s coming from, but I don’t always agree with it.”
According to Hill, he supported Trump but explained himself in 2016 by saying, “I haven’t talked to Trump. I haven’t talked to anybody. He’s said a lot of dumb things. So have all of them. Both sides”.
