A teenage boy, identified as Roman G, has confessed to carrying out a horrific attack on his classmates, including slitting a girl’s throat, in a chilling bid to “become famous”, told The Mirror. The violent rampage, which took place in a school in Chelyabinsk, Russia, has shocked the local community and left several students seriously injured.
Roman G was detained at the scene and later taken to the hospital after the gruesome attack. One of the victims, 13-year-old Valeria E, lost consciousness after being struck on the head with a hammer and having her throat slit. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Two other students, Andrey V and Maria R, both 13, were also wounded in the attack, with Maria undergoing surgery.
Leaked police testimony, published by local media, reveals Roman’s disturbing reasons for his actions. During questioning, Roman admitted that he intended to broadcast the attack online. When asked why he committed such a brutal act, he chillingly replied, “So everyone would look at me.” When further pressed if his goal was to become famous, he confirmed, “Well, yes.”
Roman detailed the horrific events leading up to the attack. “I changed my clothes… I was also planning to broadcast [online], but it didn’t work out. So I stuck the hammers in my belt… There were two hammers, a pistol, and a knife,” he explained to police.
He recounted how he entered the school, telling one student to leave before heading to the Biology class. “I ran to the blackboard, stopped abruptly, shot the girls twice very quickly. Then I started hitting them with hammers… the first time on the head.” Roman described how he continued his assault, hitting another girl, Maria, before attacking a boy, Andrei, who called out to him. Andrei tried to protect himself, but Roman struck him before being detained in the school toilets.
A grandmother of one of the injured girls expressed her disbelief and horror at how the situation unfolded, stating, “He went into the classroom, sat there for a while, came out with a gun, an axe, a knife – and this is what happened. How did they let him into the school? I don’t understand. It’s just horrible.”
News outlet Baza reported that Roman arrived at the school dressed in black and initially bypassed the classroom before launching his attack during the Biology lesson. Witnesses described the terrifying scene, with Roman attacking students and the teacher with a hammer before fleeing down the corridor.
The brutal attack has left the community grappling with shock and grief as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the violent rampage.
