The nominations will be announced in 24 categories, with the announcements starting from 8:30 am EST time (1.30pm GMT). This year, for the first time, all the categories will be announced live, in two separate sections. At 8.30am, directors JJ Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron will begin reading the nominations for the following categories: Animated Feature Film.[contentblock id=1 img=adsense.png]Oscar Nominations

Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Film Editing, Original Song, Production Design, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects. Eight minutes later, actor Chris Pine and academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, will read the nominations for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay and Best Picture.

Best Picture

Likely candidates for a Best Picture Oscar nomination include Birdman, Boyhood, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, Selma, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Whiplash, Foxcatcher, Gone Girl and American Sniper. Boyhood appears to be the bookies’ favourite to win, with Coral and William Hill offering odds of 1/10 on the film.

Best Actor

Possible contenders for the Best Actor Oscar include Michael Keaton (Birdman), Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Steve Carell (Foxcatcher), David Oyelowo (Selma), Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), and Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler).

Best Actress

Potential Oscar Nominations 2015 for Best Actress include Julianne Moore (Still Alice), Reese Witherspoon (Wild), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Amy Adams (Big Eyes), Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), and Jennifer Aniston (Cake).

Best Supporting Actor

The nominees for Best Supporting Actor Oscar may well include JK Simmons (Whiplash), Edward Norton (Birdman), Ethan Hawke, (Boyhood), Mark Ruffalo (Foxcatcher) Steve Carell (Foxcatcher), Robert Duvall (The Judge), Josh Brolin (Inherent Vice) and Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler).

Best Supporting Actress

LIkely Oscar nominees for Best Supporting Actress are Patricia Arquette (Boyhood), Emma Stone (Birdman), Keira Knightley (The Imitation Game), Meryl Streep (Into The Woods), Rene Russo (Nightcrawler), Jessica Chastain (A Most Violent Year), Laura Dern (Wild) and Naomi Watts (St Vincent).
