Following Kate Middleton’s appearance at the Trooping the Colour, royal watchers are eager for updates on her health and wondering when they’ll see her next. Despite the public’s curiosity, there’s a notable silence from the Palace.
The Princess of Wales, formerly known as Kate Middleton, made her first public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis at this year’s Trooping the Colour. Acknowledging her ongoing battle, Prince William’s wife shared that she’s “not out of the woods yet.”
“My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months,” Kate wrote in an Instagram post. “On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home. I’m looking forward to attending the king’s birthday parade … and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.”
Many hope for more updates on Kate’s health, but royal expert Ian Pelham Turner suggests that’s unlikely. He claims King Charles has “closed the door” on any new announcements about his daughter-in-law’s condition.
For those anticipating more news following her Trooping the Colour appearance, Turner says the Palace will remain “tight-lipped” to protect her privacy.
“The reality is nobody really knows how Kate is,” Turner told Fox News Digital. “There are many whispers by those who wish to further their careers. But in reality, when the royal family wishes to close the doors on the world, they have had centuries of practice in the art.”
He added that the princess is considered the royal family’s best asset, and King Charles is determined to protect her privacy.
“Kate has been stated by the global press as the royal family’s jewel in the crown,” Turner noted. “She [is seen as] the No. 1 royal … stabilizing the monarchy’s future.”
Turner is correct that no one knows for sure how Kate is doing, but some saw the princess’s last appearance as a positive sign.
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard believes Kate has made significant progress in her treatment after seeing her on the balcony with the rest of the working royals during King Charles’ birthday parade.
Chard opined that the princess “has a renewed zest for life. She is thankful for the public’s love, which has given her a huge boost. She was so happy to be able to support her family and be back on duty in a united force. Duty and service are very important to her, and she carried out her service with courage, dignity, and strength. Cancer brings people closer together. The whole royal family looked united and stronger than ever on that Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping the Colour.”
While the public remains hopeful for more updates, the royal family continues to prioritize Kate’s privacy and well-being.
