Miss USA 2016

Deshauna Barber, a 26-year-old IT analyst and Army officer, just made the District Of Columbia very proud. The gorgeous woman competed against 51 of America’s most stunning women to become Miss USA 2016 but she earned the crown after slaying in all three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. Congratulations! Deshauna Barber is officially your 64th Miss USA winner, and we couldn’t be more happy for her! Deshauna was given the crown after out-performing everyone!

During the swimsuit round, she wore a bright pink two-piece with white zig-zag patterns on it. And when she strutted around in the swimsuit, she looked amazing!Miss USA 2016Then, during the evening gown portion of the competition, Deshauna wowed in a sparkly gold dress with a low-cut neckline. She showed off a bit of skin, but still looked classy!

And when she took part in the interview round, we were almost certain she’d win! Deshauna was asked about the Pentagon opening all combat jobs to women. When judge Joe Zee asked her what her thoughts were, she said, “As a woman in the United States Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military. We are just as tough as men. As a commander of my unit, I am powerful, I am dedicated, and it is important that we recognize that gender does not limit us in the United States Army.” Perfectly said! And she did a lot better than Miss California, who flubbed her answer. Deshauna won out over Miss Georgia and Miss Hawaii, who was the runner-up.
