Congratulations, Erin Brady!
The 25-year-old Miss Connecticut contestant proved that “she’s beauty and she’s grace,” by being crowned the 2013 Miss USA winner tonight at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Strutting a beautiful white gown, Erin Brady was given the title after answering a question about the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold widespread DNA tests, which she agreed with.
Along with being the owner of the gorgeous crown and getting a New York apartment for one year, Brady is expected to spend her title reign on a nationwide speaking tour and raising awareness for breast and ovarian cancers, the organization’s official cause.
Brady will also represent the United States at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, Russia, on Nov. 9. The first runner up, Miss Alabama Mary Margaret McCord, will take over should she not be able to complete her duties. The second through fifth runners up were Miss Illinois Stacie Juris, Miss Utah Marissa Powell, Miss Texas Ali Nugent and Miss South Carolina Megan Pinckney.
