Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have captured headlines once again as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared rare insights into their family’s intimate Christmas celebrations.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent the festive season at their Montecito home, marking their sixth Christmas apart from the royal family. While the royal traditions unfolded at Sandringham, Harry and Meghan created their own unique holiday rituals with their two children.
In a heartfelt statement, Meghan expressed her excitement about the holiday season, emphasizing the joy of seeing it through the eyes of her kids. “At first, I think as a mom with children you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she told Marie Claire. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
Meghan also shared that the family’s favorite traditions include leaving “carrots for the reindeer,” adding that “every single holiday is a new adventure.” She wants Archie and Lilibet to build lasting memories through cherished traditions, including “great recipes that they end up connecting to a formative memory.”
The Duchess previously shared her anticipation for the season at an Archwell charity event, where she highlighted the importance of bringing “magic” to the holidays for her children.
Joining the Sussexes for the celebrations was Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, making the occasion even more special.
This update follows the release of the Sussexes’ 2024 Christmas card, offering a rare glimpse of their lives. While Archie and Lilibet were photographed from behind to protect their privacy, reports suggest a second, more personal card was sent to close friends and family.
