She is known for her love of curve-enhancing and cleavage-baring attire. But Mariah Carey’s penchant for revealing clothing saw her become in danger of overexposing herself on Wednesday night. The 42-year-old singer Mariah Carey nearly spilled out of her black and white strapless gown as she attended a secret screening of the first episode of American Idol Season 12 at UCLA University. As she exited the University of California, Los Angeles, flanked by security, the Glitter star came in danger of exposing more than she bargained for. But the mother-of-two must have had plenty of Hollywood tape on hand, as thankfully everything managed to stay in place.
Mariah was joined by her fellow American Idol judges Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson at the event. As well as drawing attention with her ample decolletage, the singer was dripping with bling with everything from large dangling earrings to thick sparkling bracelets. The Hero singer wore her hair pushed back and long down her back. During the event, Mariah was beaming as she and host Ryan Seacrest took to the stage at Royce Hall. She had earlier skipped the red-carpet, but fellow Idol judge Nicki Minaj took centre stage in a neon pink and yellow body con frock.
Looking like a human Barbie doll, Nicki puckered up her hot-pink lips and flaunted her ample curves by striking several sexy poses. One has to wonder if Mariah is still simmering from the ongoing feud between her and Nicki. The newest season of the successful talent show has already begun on a tempestuous note with arguing and disagreeing going on among the judges. Nicki and Mariah especially have been at each other’s throats, with Mariah telling Barbara Walters on Monday night that she didn’t feel physically safe after a verbal spat in October.
‘It felt like an unsafe work environment,’ Mariah told Walters in regards to earlier reports that Nicki had made threats involving a gun. For her part, Nicki has denied such reports, saying there are a ‘fabrication.’) ‘Anytime somebody’s reeling threats at somebody, you know, it’s not appropriate,’ Mariah said. ‘I’ve got two babies… I’m not going to take any chances. ‘I did hire more security. I felt it was the appropriate thing to do.’ At the Television Critics Association panel of American Idol in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the show’s producers denied that the feud between Mariah and Nicki is a publicity stunt.
‘Whatever feuds there have been – and this isn’t just between Nicki and Mariah but Keith (Urban) and Randy (Jackson) as well – are genuine,’ Nigel Lythgoe, the show’s executive producer, said. ‘Whenever you’re in this sort of passionate situation, these things happen.’ – Dailymail
