Prince William, the heir to the British throne, is determined to keep his estranged brother, Prince Harry, at a distance from their cancer-stricken father, King Charles III.
The Prince of Wales is reportedly influencing the King to make a strict decision, which, according to royal commentator Hilary Fordwich, is deeply heartbreaking for the monarch. However, King Charles appears to be conceding to his eldest son’s wishes.
“It is widely known within the family that Prince William has laid down an absolute ban on Harry returning in any way, shape, or form into his former royal family fold,” Fordwich claimed via OK! Magazine.
“If anyone will relent, it would be King Charles III, whom, of course, Prince William won’t challenge, who still misses his ‘darling boy’ and would like to see more of Prince Harry,” she explained.
Since stepping down from his senior royal position in 2020, the rift between Harry and his family has only deepened. Tensions escalated further after Harry and his wife Meghan Markle portrayed the royal family negatively in their Netflix docuseries.
The situation worsened with the release of Harry’s memoir “Spare” in 2023, which highlighted an alleged physical altercation between the brothers. “To this day, after the release of Spare and the Netflix serial, as well as with everything else Harry has said, done, and not done, it’s Prince William who adamantly refuses to even speak to his brother,” Fordwich noted.
King Charles, who still yearns to see his “darling boy,” finds himself caught between his desire for family unity and William’s firm stance. The strained relationship between the brothers has led to a significant separation, with Harry and William not being photographed together since King Charles’s coronation.
As of now, there are no signs of reconciliation between the two, with Prince William standing firm in his decision to keep Prince Harry away, prioritizing the stability of the royal family and the well-being of their father during his health struggles.
