Prince Harry’s recent actions have left his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, with only one way to connect with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet: visiting them in the United States.

According to The Mirror, it has been over two years since Charles last saw his now-American grandchildren during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June 2022. The monarch had hoped that Harry would bring the children to the UK, allowing for a family reunion.

However, these hopes were dashed when the Duke of Sussex stated in the ITV documentary, Tabloids on Trial, that he would never bring Meghan Markle to the UK due to security concerns. Although Harry did not mention his children explicitly, the implication is clear: if his wife is unsafe in his home country, their children are likely at risk as well.

A royal commentator weighed in on the matter, saying, “It would be great to think that at some point soon the King would get to visit the grandchildren that he has seen very little of.”

“But he is 75 and still not in the best of health,” the commentator added. “A visit to America is unlikely to be a priority now, given the other demands on his time.”

“It’s an incredibly sad situation that few would have predicted even five years ago,” the expert commented, highlighting the unexpected and unfortunate circumstances now facing the royal family.

The situation underscores the growing distance between Prince Harry and the rest of the royal family, both geographically and emotionally. As King Charles deals with health issues and a busy schedule, the chances of him traveling to the US to see his grandchildren seem slim, adding to the complexity of an already strained relationship.
