Season 5 of “The Kardashians” has kicked off with more drama, this time shifting focus from the previous season’s tension between Kim Kardashian and her older sister Kourtney to a new clash between Kim and Khloe Kardashian.

The season premiere opens with most of the Kardashian-Jenner clan—Kim, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner—heading to Paris for Fashion Week. Notably absent is Kourtney Kardashian, who stayed behind due to being 31.5 weeks pregnant.

The episode then cuts to Khloe Kardashian and momager Kris Jenner at Scott Disick’s house. Kris asks Khloe if she’s planning to join them in Paris, but Khloe is clearly reluctant.

Kris insists she needs to pack for the trip, while Khloe counters that Kim is only going for a brief 12-hour stint.

“There are a couple of things holding me back from wanting to go to Paris. School has just started, and the school routine… is a routine,” Khloe explains in a confessional. “Especially when Kim told me we’re in Paris for 12 hours. That didn’t really seal the deal for me,” she adds.

Khloe elaborates, “Kim can fly by the seat of her pants, but it’s not me. I’m not gonna change who I am. I was like, you know what? I actually don’t care to do this. I would rather be with my kids.”

Despite Kris claiming she needs to pack, Scott Disick humorously points out that Kris doesn’t pack herself. Kris responds by saying she “organizes.”

Later, on the plane to Paris, Kim, Kris, and Corey are reminded that Khloe wanted one of the beds. Kim is visibly irritated by Khloe’s absence.

“Khloe is not coming and honestly she’s just not feeling it. When you’re not feeling it, there’s nothing that can force you to come and have a good time. Like you will just be miserable. I am not in the mood to deal,” Kim says in another confessional.

Meanwhile, Khloe explains her decision to stay behind, citing concern for Kourtney. “Kourtney is at the very end of her pregnancy. I feel like someone has to be here, even for all the kids, like God forbid there’s a natural disaster. I just feel like somebody has to be here. I know I’m an overthinker, I know I’m insane. Welcome to my mind,” she confesses.

Kim, seemingly frustrated, comments, “She needs to get out and live her life. All arrows are pointing towards misery and she feels guilty for leaving and she should just be home.”

As the episode concludes, Kim revisits her disappointment about Khloe’s decision not to join the Paris trip. “I came to support Victoria, I came to support Kendall, I love seeing my mom…I do wish Khloe was here. Khloe can be so stuck in a routine. She’s not gonna meet anyone at carpool. She’s not gonna meet anyone at drop-off. She’s only gonna meet people when she does adult things,” Kim reflects.

In a preview for next week’s episode, the tension continues as Kris asks Kim if she has discussed the issue with Khloe. Kim responds, “No, because she’s just so judgmental.”

The season promises more insights into the Kardashian family dynamics, highlighting the personal and professional challenges they navigate.
