In the campaign Kanye wears a black tux jacket, a geometrical black and white leather hoodie and, wait for it, leather trackies. Balmain, a French fashion house, was founded in 1946 – its founder, Pierre Balmain, outfitted Ava Gardner and Brigitte Bardot: he was known for cutting dresses that gave women ‘impossible’ curves. Today, the label is led by Olivier Rousteing, who took over in 2011 when he was just 25. Today, Rihanna, the Kardashians and up-and-coming models are its strongest ambassadors. Its look is edgy, always a touch military or retro and often overtly sexy.
