Bieber, who? In the wake of the Paula Deen scandal, the world may have momentarily forgotten about Justin Bieber’s recent troubles, but that doesn’t mean they’ve gone away. In fact, they’ve only gotten bigger — or, more official, at least.
On June 26, Los Angeles-based photographer Jose Osmin Hernandez Duran filed papers against the Justin Bieber for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and, to top it all off, negligence. The lawsuit comes as the result of an alleged May 27, 2012, altercation between the Biebs and Duran. As recounted by Duran, Bieber was leaving a Calabasas movie theater with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez (who was on-again at the time) when he “physically attacked” the photog, who had been trying to get a “lawful” shot of the hot Hollywood couple.
In addition, the document, acquired by “omg! Insider,” makes more sweeping allegations that the 29-year-old icon “has demonstrated serious and worsening problems with aggression, anger management, violence, and unlawful conduct,” and claims “these issues have manifested in increasingly extreme, troubling, and dangerous episodes, often including a lack of respect for the law and the rights of others.”
The filing then cites several additional incidents that (Duran hopes) illustrate his point. Highlights include: Bieber getting pulled over by the California Highway Patrol for speeding over 100 mph; Bieber assaulting his former bodyguard; Bieber bullying a woman at the gym by spitting in her water bottle; and, last but not least, Bieber tweeting that the drummer of the Black Keys “should be slapped around.”
While we don’t condone spitting in anyone’s water bottles (ever!), and we certainly recommend keeping thoughts of slapping people out of the Twitterverse, we’re also not so sure those last two are criminal offenses. Duran is requesting a jury trial to settle the matter. As of now, however, there are no set damages or potential trial date.
Only time will tell what the courts decide, but in the meantime, hopefully the Biebs will keep his hands, and thoughts, and spit to himself. – Omg.Yahoo
