Judge Signs Off on Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Custody Agreement

The former couple appeared to be gearing up for a custody battle in September (16), after Angelina filed for divorce to end her two-year marriage to Brad and requested sole physical custody of their six children, ranging in age from eight to 15. The Ocean’s Eleven actor hit back with his own paperwork, seeking joint custody, but in early November (16), the two sides announced they had reached a deal, and Angelina was granted primary care of the kids, with Brad allowed visitation monitored by a therapist. Angelina recently filed the agreement in court and it was signed by a judge on Friday (02Dec16), reports TMZ.com. According to the papers, the terms of Brad’s visitation will be decided by Dr. Ian Russ, a psychologist who has been placed in charge of monitoring the actor’s time with his family.

As previously reported, the deal stipulates that both stars must continue to participate in group therapy sessions with their children, while Brad must submit to random drug and alcohol tests at least four times a month. The agreement will remain in place until both parents consent to altering the conditions or until a judge issues a court order. The news emerges almost a month after Brad was cleared of any wrongdoing by officials at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) regarding an incident between the actor and his adopted son Maddox on board a private plane in September (16). The alleged altercation is said to have prompted Angelina to file for divorce four days later, but DCFS officials have since ruled Brad did not commit child abuse during the reported argument.
