Jennifer Lawrence was awarded Best Actress at the 2013Â . The 22-year-old ‘Silver Linings Playbook‘ actress – who was previously nominated in the same category two years ago for her role in ‘Winter’s Bone‘ – received a standing ovation after she stumbled on the stairs leading up to the stage at the 85th annual ceremony on her way to collect her statue on Sunday (24.02.13).
Dressed in a stunning Dior Haute Couture gown, she said: “Thank you so much. This is nuts. “You guys are only standing up because I fell and you feel bad.” The blonde beauty, who was accompanied at the ceremony by her parents, also thanked her co-stars, crew and team for their support before wishing her fellow nominee, ‘Amour’ star Emmanuelle Riva a happy 86th birthday.
Before the prestigious ceremony at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater, Jennifer revealed she had a very stressful day and admitted she couldn’t wait to get to an after party so she could eat. She said: “Today was so stressful. There was everybody in, my family got ready at my house. I felt like Steve Martin in ‘Father of the Bride’ with all the furniture being moved around my house.
I had no time to eat. I’m starving.” Jennifer also beat off stiff competition from Jessica Chastain in ‘Zero Dark Thirty‘, Quvenzhane Wallis in ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild, Naomi Watts in ‘The Impossible‘ and Emmanuelle. – Femalefirst
