Ashley Cain’s baby daughter is responding well to treatment amid leukaemia battle

Ex On The Beach star Ashley Cain has shared an update on his baby daughter Azaylia’s health battle.

The MTV personality, 29, says that the little tot – who has leukaemia – is responding well to her stem cell treatment and told how the five-month old’s strength is impressing the medical staff looking after her.

In a post shared to his Instagram account on Monday, the reality TV star, who shares his daughter with partner Safiyya Vorajee, typed: “Had such an amazing morning with my little princess.

“The energy she generates for not only herself but for me and anyone that enters the room is so irresistibly compelling!

“UPDATE: The doctors told me this morning that she’s making her own cells ALREADY which is amazing news and they cannot believe how strong she is and how well she’s doing!”

Ashley then went on to share his gratitude for the stem cell donor, as he continued: “DONOR: Azaylia’s stem cells came from an umbilical cord which was donated from a lady directly after giving birth.

“This was great for Azaylia as the cord cells are very rich and because of her age, the amount of cells in the cord are sufficient for her.

“Also, it meant that the cord could be requested and sent immediately for Azaylia’s urgent need of a transplant!

“Unfortunately as it is a cord donor, it means that we will never be able to meet the people who have given Azaylia her stem cells and the greatest gift imaginable!

“However, we’re extremely grateful to whoever you are and I’ll be praying for you for the rest of my life! Thank you.”

Azaylia was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia two months after her August birth, before Ashley revealed that she needed a stem cell donor in November.

She is being treated in Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

As well as undergoing the stem cell treatment the brave little girl has had several rounds of chemotherapy.

Ashley recently took part in a Q&A with fans – where he answered some questions about his baby girl’s condition.

“Do you and Safiyaa get to see each other much at the moment? You both are such an inspiration,” one fan wrote.

Ashley responded: “We get to spend about five minutes chatting when we switch over in the hospital. Apart from that it’s phone calls and FaceTime.”

When quizzed on what gives him strength and courage on a daily basis, the reality Tv star said: “My daughter is the source of all my strength. She gives me unmeasurable amounts of love and happiness.

“Me being upset and negative won’t help a thing.”

He went on: “If my daughter can fight this, the least I can do is be strong and surround her with the best energy possible.”

Another concerned fan asked him how he’s getting on, to which Ashley candidly replied by saying he’s “heartbroken”.

“It’s the hardest thing I could imagine in my worst nightmare,” he said. “Every single day. But at the same time I genuinely believe in my daughter and I can honestly say I enjoy and appreciate every single second with her.”

Ashley said that watching baby Azalyia suffer is “torture,” before adding that he would take “any punishment imaginable for her to be free of this”.
