Former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney had the perfect comeback after Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, declaring, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.” Cheney, a known Swift fan, wasted no time in responding to the former president’s swipe at the pop star.

Trump’s post came shortly after Taylor Swift publicly announced her support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. The singer’s endorsement followed weeks of speculation about where she stood politically, culminating in her decision to throw her support behind Harris after the vice presidential debate with Trump.

The Trump-Vance campaign quickly brushed off Swift’s endorsement of Harris, but Trump’s sharp response made waves. His “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” message on social media sparked widespread reactions, with Liz Cheney leading the charge, told The Independent.

Back in June, Cheney attended a Taylor Swift concert in London and took a jab at Trump in a now-viral tweet. Sharing a video clip from the concert, she wrote, “This is what a sold out crowd actually looks like,” tagging Trump in the post. She also added, “Thank you @taylorswift13 for giving us a million reasons to smile.” Cheney’s tweet racked up over 160,000 likes and reignited tension between her and Trump supporters, especially given her role in the January 6th committee.

Cheney, once a staunch Republican in Congress, has since become a vocal critic of Trump and has publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for the upcoming election. Her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, has also backed Harris. Both father and daughter’s alignment with the Harris campaign continues to stir political waters, especially among the MAGA base.

The Harris-Walz campaign joined in on the Trump-Swift feud, releasing a playful statement that was filled with Swift song references. Headlined “Trump’s Bad Week (Taylor’s Version),” the statement poked fun at Trump’s emotional outbursts, saying, “Mr. Not-at-all Fine has spent this week working through his feelings, whining about his Champagne Problems, and spending exactly none of his time addressing the issues facing the American people.”

In an unexpected turn, even music manager Scooter Braun, who has had a long-running dispute with Swift over her master recordings, chimed in. According to the Billboard Braun reposted Trump’s comment on Instagram with the caption “Shake it off,” adding his own endorsement for Kamala Harris in the November election.

The FBI is currently investigating an unrelated incident where a man with a gun was spotted on Trump’s golf course in Florida. Secret Service agents apprehended the individual, but investigations are ongoing.
