Trevor Etienne led the Georgia Bulldogs to a 30-15 victory over the top-ranked Texas Longhorns, scoring three touchdowns in a game that saw fifth-ranked Georgia move up to second in the latest US LBM / USA Today coaches poll, via the Daily Mail. The Bulldogs handed Texas their first loss of the season, dropping the Longhorns from No. 1 to sixth place in the rankings.

The game took place in Austin, where Georgia’s dominant performance stunned Texas fans. One fan in particular, however, caught the attention of viewers across the country. During a break in the action, television cameras captured a blonde fan standing to watch her team, sparking a wave of social media attention. The fan, identified as Kiera Mayer, a University of Arkansas student and Texas native, quickly became a viral sensation.

Barstool Sports shared the clip on social media, captioning it, “We’re all rooting for Texas tonight,” and the video quickly circulated online. Unfortunately for Mayer and Texas fans, they had to watch their team fall to Georgia and witness fellow fans throw trash onto the field in frustration over a controversial call.

As for Mayer, who now has over 4,000 followers on Instagram, not much is publicly known about her beyond her newfound viral fame. Her brief appearance during the game has made her a familiar face to many college football fans.

On the field, Georgia’s win marked a significant step for the Bulldogs as they climbed from No. 5 to No. 2 in the national rankings, trailing only Oregon. Etienne’s impressive performance, including three rushing touchdowns, was key to Georgia’s victory. The win solidified their position as one of the top contenders for the college football playoffs.

Texas, on the other hand, faces a setback after the loss but still has time to recover. With their goal of making the college football playoffs still in sight, the Longhorns will need to bounce back in the coming weeks to remain in the playoff race.

Though the outcome wasn’t what Texas fans had hoped for, Georgia’s road win was a massive boost for the Bulldogs, further establishing their dominance in the 2024 season.
