Sydney Sweeney, the 26-year-old actress best known for her roles in Euphoria and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is opening up about the challenges she faces when trying to take a break from her demanding career. In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, Sweeney shared insights into her difficulty in stepping away from work and embracing downtime, especially after a summer filled with relaxation.
Sweeney confessed that as a self-proclaimed “workaholic,” shifting gears from her busy career to vacation mode has been far from easy. “You know, it’s a very different feeling for me. I am a workaholic. I love to work, and I love juggling a million things at the same time,” Sweeney explained. “It was almost like a challenge to myself, to take a step back and allow myself to go into vacation mode. And it’s been hard!”
The actress also spoke about the importance of her close-knit group of friends in helping her stay grounded. Interestingly, most of Sweeney’s friends are not part of the entertainment industry, which she attributes to her upbringing. “Most of my friends are still my childhood friends, and that’s why most of them aren’t in the industry because I didn’t grow up in it. It’s very much just going back to my roots,” she said.
Sweeney revealed that these friends have played a crucial role in ensuring she truly disconnects from work during her time off. “My friends would hide my phone while I’d be trying to call my team so we could talk scripts and work!” she added, highlighting their efforts to help her relax.
As Sweeney continues to navigate her thriving career, she also emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between her professional and personal life. With her engagement to businessman Jonathan Davino, she stressed the value of keeping certain aspects of her life private, citing multiple reasons for wanting to protect her personal space.
Sweeney’s candid reflections provide a glimpse into the challenges faced by those in the limelight, particularly the struggle to maintain work-life balance in an industry that often demands constant attention.
