Shannon Beador, star of Real Housewives of Orange County, has filed a legal response to her ex-boyfriend John Janssen’s lawsuit, firmly denying all allegations of fraud and requesting that the case be dismissed.
In court documents, Beador, 60, disputes Janssen’s claims that she owes him $75,000 in unpaid loans and is also seeking reimbursement for her legal fees.
John Janssen, 61, filed the lawsuit against Beador, asserting that she borrowed a total of $75,000 from him during their on-again, off-again four-year relationship. According to Janssen, the loans were made in two separate transactions. He alleges that in 2022, Beador asked him for $40,000 to cover the cost of a facelift, followed by an additional $35,000 later that year, both of which he provided.
Janssen claims that despite his repeated requests for repayment, Beador has failed to return the money, leading him to sue her for breach of contract and fraud.
In her legal response, Beador argues that Janssen is “not entitled to any relief” because he has “not suffered any irreparable injury based on any alleged conduct” by her. She maintains that the $75,000 in question was given as a gift, not as a loan, and therefore, she is not obligated to repay it.
Beador also highlighted that during their relationship, she covered numerous expenses, implying that Janssen benefited financially from their partnership. On Real Housewives of Orange County, she had pointed out instances where she had financially supported Janssen, which she believes should be taken into account.
Furthermore, Beador contends that “part, if not all, of [John’s] alleged damages were incurred as a result of [John’s] own breaches, acts, omissions, and negligence and thus recovery by [John] against [Shannon] is barred or reduced accordingly.” This suggests that any financial losses Janssen experienced may have been due to his own actions, rather than any wrongdoing on Beador’s part.
Beador’s lawyer has also defended her business practices, asserting that they are lawful and comply with all applicable laws. The reality star is seeking reimbursement for her legal fees, labeling Janssen’s claims as “frivolous.”
The legal battle between Beador and Janssen adds another layer of drama to the Real Housewives of Orange County star’s life, as the case continues to unfold in the courts.
