Sometimes all it takes is a hairstyle change to bring a much-needed fresh start, and Savannah Guthrie is taking full advantage of that. Over the weekend, the Today anchor debuted a new ’do on Instagram—and fans are loving it.
“Chopped!” she captioned the smiley selfie. It’s hard to tell from the photo exactly how much hair is gone, but it appears to be a bit above shoulder-length now.
As always, Guthrie’s doting fans adored the update—and they especially loved that she appears to be makeup-free in the photo.
“You always look beautiful. Sometimes we just need a change! 😉” one person commented. “No makeup and still STUNNING ✨,” another added. “Love that you are so natural and comfortable in your skin. Real works on you!” someone else wrote.
The 50-year-old will surely give fans a better view of the new look on Today, as she’s finally back in the studio after working from home for a bit. She and her co-anchor Hoda Kotb tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month.
“Trading places with @hodakotb!” Guthrie captioned a January 10 Instagram. “She is back in the studio and is now negative, and now I just tested + for covid! So working from home a few days. Feel good, just a few sniffles!”
The busy journalist and mom of two don’t post super often, but when she does, she always keeps it real. That’s why her fans love her so much.
On January 11, she shared another selfie in which she donned a pink sweatshirt that read: “I’m Cold.” However, if she moved a certain way, the sweatshirt would fold and appear to read, “I’m Old.” Guthrie couldn’t help but point out her silly finding. “One wrinkle makes all the difference #cold #old,” she captioned the photo.
This latest hair transformation is actually the second Guthrie has shared in just a few months. In September 2021, she showed off dramatic pink locks. “Ready for the weekend!!” she captioned the post. “Pink hair dreams supplied by @kellymarieoneill … can the anchor of TODAY have pink hair? Asking for a friend.”
Unfortunately, the answer to that question appears to be no, as the fuchsia strands didn’t stick around for very long. That’s not to say she won’t bring them back in the future.
Still, her newest change is just as spunky—and it’s suitable for on-air hours. A win-win. Now, to wait and see how she styles it!
