Former WWE star Nikki Bella, known for her role in “Total Divas,” has officially filed for divorce from her husband, professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev, following his recent arrest for domestic violence. Fox News Digital confirmed that Bella submitted a petition for the dissolution of marriage, including custody arrangements for their 4-year-old son, Matteo, on Wednesday in Napa County, California.
Chigvintsev, best known for his time on “Dancing with the Stars,” was arrested on August 29, just three days after the couple celebrated their wedding anniversary. Records indicate that he was taken into custody at around 9:40 a.m. for alleged domestic violence and was booked an hour later. He was released on bail the same day, posting $25,000.
Neither Bella nor Chigvintsev, along with their representatives and those from “Dancing with the Stars,” have made public statements regarding the incident. The couple, who have been together for several years, welcomed their son Matteo in 2020 and he is 4-year-old, told CNN.
While details of the alleged domestic abuse incident have not been fully disclosed, a court date has been set for November 4. Fans of both Bella and Chigvintsev are left shocked by the news, especially following what appeared to be a celebration of their union just days before the arrest. Bella, who filed under her full name, Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
