Matt Damon is allegedly trying to save his rocky marriage with his wife, Lucia Barroso, with a trip to Australia for new scenery.
Matt Damon and Lucia Barroso have been married for 15 years already. However, an outlet claimed that they were having marital issues and were trying to work it out in Australia.
Matt Damon and Lucia allegedly in Australia to fix marriage
Matt Damon and his wife, Lucia Barroso, were allegedly vacationing in Australia to give their marriage another try. Star magazine published a report with the headline that read, “Matt Fixing His Marriage Away From Home!”
Damon and Barroso traveled to the Land Down Under with their children while he prepares for Thor: Love and Thunder. The beachy new surroundings were what the couple needed, according to the couple’s unnamed “friend.” However, the Ocean’s Eleven star sparked marital feud rumors when he was spotted without his wedding band.
Despite the rumors, Damon’s pal told the outlet that he has been arranging date nights for his wife. He has also been giving him gifts every day.
“Even when he’s working, he’s got the time set aside for just them,” the source said. “It’s the shot in the arm they both needed.”
Rumor debunked
Gossip Cop examined the report and didn’t see enough evidence that Matt Damon and Lucia Barroso’s marriage is heading south. First, the tabloid’s sister publication OK! also published a similar report that Damon and Barroso were having marital issues because he didn’t wear his ring.
However, there are a lot of reasons why Ben Affleck’s best friend ditched his ring. Seeing Damon sans his wedding band doesn’t mean they are already feuding or divorcing.
Also, Damon has been very open about his fondness for his marriage to Barroso. In fact, the couple renewed their vows in 2013, 10 years after they first met, People reported.
Matt and Luciana exchanged vows again at sunset with 50 guests, including their four daughters and friends Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. The event was very family-oriented, with the guests bringing up their kids. The children were running around and playing with white parasols. Exes Affleck and Garner didn’t bring their kids, but they were still together at the time.
In 2015, Affleck and Garner announced their split, and Damon was asked about it as the Argo star’s best friend. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Damon had nothing but love to say about his wife.
“I think marriage is insane,” he told ET. “It’s a crazy idea but I love being married to my wife. So I wouldn’t tell anybody else about their relationship. But I’m lucky I found my wife. And I guess maybe, if there’s any secret … it’s to feel lucky.”
