Kim Kardashian is said to be disappointed that she and Kanye West couldn’t figure out how to stay married.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 40, filed for divorce from her husband on Friday after seven years of marriage.
The couple, who share four children together, called it quits after months of speculation surrounding their crumbling relationship.
Despite the fact that makeup mogul Kim was the one who officially filed for divorce from the rapper, sources close to the reality TV star revealed that it was still an incredibly emotional time for her.
Lifting the lid on Kim’s thoughts and feelings amid her marriage breakdown, an insider told People : “’Although Kim and Kanye have been separated for months, it was still emotional for Kim to actually file for divorce.
“There is no drama between Kim and Kanye. Kim is mostly just disappointed that they couldn’t figure out how to stay married. But it takes two people to create a happy marriage.”
The source went on to reveal that Kim feels ‘very lucky’ to be surrounded by such supportive friends and family during the difficult period in her life.
They went on: “She spent the weekend taking care of herself and her kids. She is spending time with her mom, sisters and hasn’t been working. Everyone is supportive. Kim feels very lucky to be surrounded by her big family.”
When it comes to moving on with a new man, the insider revealed that Kim is not yet ready to even think about dating someone else.
Her main priorities now lie in raising their children and co-parenting with Kanye as best they can.
Kim is said to be asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s children, and according to TMZ , Kanye is happy with the arrangement, and they are both committed to co-parenting together.
The reality star tied the knot with the Grammy award-winning rapper in a lavish ceremony in Italy back in 2014.
The pair then went on to welcome four children together; daughter North, seven, son Saint, five, daughter Chicago, two, and one-year-old son Psalm.
Their divorce comes after reports that the estranged couple have been living separate lives for months.
