Sid Wilson, the Slipknot DJ and partner of Kelly Osbourne is sharing a powerful warning after suffering serious burns in a home accident. Following a bonfire explosion that left him with significant injuries, Wilson is urging fans to be cautious around the fire.

“Don’t f–k around with fire,” Wilson told Fox News Digital after the incident, adding, “It’s going to win every time.” The accident occurred over the weekend when a burn pile at his Iowa home exploded, leaving him with burns on his face and arms. Wilson documented his ordeal on social media, showing his arrival at an emergency room with burns on his arm and head before being transferred to another facility with better burn care.

Wilson described the extent of his injuries, saying, “My whole right arm is bandaged up, half of my left arm is bandaged, and my face is basically melted from the nose down.” Despite the severity of his injuries, he noted that the swelling has already decreased and added, “I’ve had better days, I guess, but I’m alive, so I’m doing good.”

The 47-year-old musician explained that the accident happened after he lit a wood burn pile at his home. The next day, he checked the pile and noticed some debris left around the edges. In a moment of impatience, Wilson added gasoline to the fire, despite knowing it was a risky move. “I, like a dummy, did what I’m not supposed to do, but I added some gas to it,” he admitted.

After removing the gas can, Wilson searched for a long branch to light the fire, but his impatience got the better of him. He decided to light the fire by hand, thinking he would be fine. However, the humid conditions caused vapors to linger, and the pile exploded, sending Wilson flying.

Wilson immediately rushed back to his home on a four-wheeler to get his family and then drove to urgent care. He was later transferred to a larger hospital in Des Moines, where he finally allowed himself to relax after the harrowing experience. “When stuff like that happens, you got to go into a mode where it’s like, get yourself where you need to be before your body shuts down,” he explained.

After receiving painkillers and temporary dressings, Wilson was transferred to a specialty center in Iowa City. He was discharged the next day, with Kelly Osbourne continuing his care at home by changing his dressings. Wilson joked online that Osbourne was “having the Florence Nightingale effect on [him].”

Despite the ordeal, Wilson maintains a positive attitude. “I’m not going to let it get me depressed,” he said, though he acknowledged that the hardest part is feeling “stupid for doing it.” Reflecting on the incident, he added, “I’ve got to make sure I just slow down sometimes and really examine the situation before I just dive in headfirst.”

Wilson is scheduled for a follow-up appointment later this week and does not believe he will require surgery or skin grafts for his burns. He also plans to perform at Slipknot’s upcoming show on September 1 in Pryor, Oklahoma, though his usual stage attire may need to be adjusted. “I’ll be there, man. I always find a way to pull it off,” he said, recalling how he completed a previous tour in a wheelchair after breaking both of his heels on the first night.
