Jennifer Lopez recently opened up about her profound connection with Judy Robles, the character she portrays in the movie Unstoppable. Speaking candidly in an interview with Variety, the star shared insights into how deeply intertwined her own life experiences are with those of her on-screen role.

“We were kindred spirits,” Lopez revealed. “We both grew up Latina in this country. We both had children and have hopes and dreams for them.”

The actress explained that her bond with the role runs deeper than just cultural parallels. “We both had challenging relationships, which left us holding our families together,” she added.

Lopez reflected on the resilience required of women, particularly those shaped by demanding environments. “Women are strong. We have to be,” she said, emphasizing the grit that her character Judy—and women in general—embody.

“From the minute women are born, we’re always having to prove ourselves, to show we’re good enough. That creates a type of strength,” Lopez continued, delving into the societal pressures that forge determination. “And then a lot of us give birth — and there’s nothing that makes you stronger than doing that.”

JLo’s portrayal of Judy in Unstoppable aligns with the actress’s personal philosophy and life journey. Her ability to channel her own experiences into the role highlights her dedication to authenticity in her craft.

Beyond her work in Unstoppable, Lopez also reflected on receiving the prestigious Legend & Groundbreaker Award at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival, an honor that left her deeply moved.

“I’m humbled,” she shared, describing her reaction to the recognition. Yet, even in this moment of celebration, the Atlas actress underscored her belief in continual growth. “I still have so much more to do. I’m at the halfway mark. I feel like my best work is in front of me.”

Lopez’s vision for her future is resolute. “My biggest projects are in front of me, and my biggest successes. Everything is in the future,” she declared, signaling her commitment to pushing boundaries both as an artist and an individual.

Through her words and work, Jennifer Lopez exemplifies the strength and resilience she sees in Judy Robles, making her portrayal in Unstoppable a true reflection of life’s triumphs and challenges.
