Nearly a year after finalizing their divorce, Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are at odds again, with Berry filing a Request for Order against her ex-husband, told The New York Post.
In new court papers obtained by “Extra,” Berry accuses Martinez of “failure to comply” with their co-parenting therapy agreement for their 10-year-old son, Maceo. This agreement was established at the end of May.
According to the court documents, Martinez unilaterally “terminated” the co-parenting therapy sessions for July and August “without Halle’s and Dr. Portanova’s prior knowledge,” citing his desire to take the “summer off” from the sessions.
Berry hopes the court will compel Martinez to “continue in co-parenting therapy in August”, reported People. The papers explain that Martinez wanted to delay the sessions due to travel plans to France in July and a visit from his brother in August. However, the documents argue that Martinez could attend the sessions via Zoom from anywhere in the world.
The couple had initially agreed to complete six joint sessions by June 14, but this deadline was missed due to repeated delays. According to Berry, Martinez has only attended one session, in June.
The court papers reveal that Berry has attempted to resolve these issues directly with Martinez and through their legal counsel, but to no avail.
Berry and Martinez married in 2013 and announced their split in 2015. However, their divorce wasn’t finalized until last year due to unresolved custody and child support arrangements. According to divorce documents obtained by “Extra,” Berry and Martinez share joint legal and physical custody of Maceo, with the week split between their households and alternating weekends.
Berry’s recent filing underscores the ongoing challenges the couple faces in co-parenting their son. As tensions rise, the court’s intervention may be necessary to ensure compliance with their agreed-upon therapy sessions and to maintain a stable environment for Maceo.
