Ellie Goulding has given birth to her first child with husband Caspar Jopling.
Taking to Instagram account on Sunday, Caspar announced the new arrival via his Stories and told that the new tot and mum are “healthy and happy.”
Confirming Ellie, 34, has become a mother, he shared a picture of a bunch of flowers and wrote: “Mum and baby both healthy and happy :) Extremely grateful.”
The art dealer added: “I don’t ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie’s job, but during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy – Thank you x.”
The couple are yet to share the name they have chosen for their bundle of joy.
During her pregnancy, Ellie gave fans more of an insight into her life on social media.
She rarely shares snaps of her private life on the platform, but throughout her journey, the songstress has been sharing intimate pictures with her followers.
She has posed nude to show off her bump, and also shared the reality of pregnant life as she napped on the sofa.
The doting mum also revealed she was addicted to sardines and Weetabix and couldn’t stop eating them throughout her pregnancy.
Ellie and Caspar found out she was pregnant on their one-year wedding anniversary.
The Anything Could Happen hitmaker said the news came as a surprise to them both.
“That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality,” Ellie shared with Vogue magazine as she showed off her 30-week baby bump at the time.
“Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human. I want a better word than womanly, [but]—I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it,” Ellie added.
Congratulations on your new arrival, Ellie and Caspar!
