Kate Gosselin’s lawyer has spoken out after her estranged son, Collin Gosselin, made serious abuse allegations, claiming the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star mistreated him during his childhood. Collin alleged that his mother locked him in a “storage basement” and “zip-tied my hands and feet together,” leaving him in a dark room with cameras watching.

In a statement to The Sun, Collin described the emotional and physical abuse he says he endured, explaining that he was isolated from his siblings and kept in a bolt-locked room with a mattress on the floor. “I was there most of the day,” Collin claimed. “I didn’t go to school, and I never really went outside or played with my siblings. It was literally containment.”

Kate’s attorney, Richard Puleo, responded to the allegations, stating that his client would not directly comment on the claims. “She never wants to comment because she always knows that this gets taken out of context,” Puleo told Fox News Digital. “She doesn’t need to comment. The record speaks for itself.”

Puleo further defended Kate, asserting, “I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape, or form. Whatever took place, the ones that are truthful are the ones that took place.”

Collin, now 19, also took to Instagram, thanking his father, Jon Gosselin, for rescuing him from what he describes as years of mistreatment. “It has taken me a long time to find the strength to speak about my mother’s abuse,” he wrote. “I have finally found my voice, and I hope to be the voice for children everywhere facing abuse. It is never OK.”

He expressed gratitude toward his father for gaining custody and helping him escape: “Thank you, Dad, for fighting so hard to save me.”

Jon Gosselin has supported his son’s claims, revealing that the basement room Collin described was confirmed to still exist by the house’s new owners. “It must have been terrifying for him,” Jon said.

Collin alleges his experience was vastly different from his siblings’, claiming his mother frequently became physically and verbally aggressive. His statement sheds light on a dark chapter of his childhood, as he hopes to bring attention to the system that, he says, failed him.
