It was a night to celebrate the philanthropy from some of the world’s biggest stars, but Eva Longoria certainly stole the focus in her glittering evening gown.
The actress arrived to the Global Gift Gala wearing an unusual sequined dress that featured a transparent panel and skirt with leaf-like embellishment. With her dark locks pulled back into a pony-tail and a quiff fringe, Eva, 38, looked happy to be able to present her friend David Beckham with a special award on Monday night.
The international fundraising event – held at Paris’s George V Hotel – recognised the personal and professional commitment of the Paris Saint Germain player to helping those in need. Over the years, David, 38, has led fundraising and awareness initiatives with Malaria No More UK, UNICEF and the Elton John AIDS Foundation, so this award is a long time coming for the footballer who has given his entire PSG salary to a French charity.
Receiving the award from his wife’s friend Eva will obviously add even more pleasure to the occasion, with the former Desperate Housewives star no doubt pleased David is the recipient of such an honour. As the gala host, Eva said: ”The Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award recognises prominent figures who dedicate their time and energy to helping those in need. ‘David has worked extensively with a number of charities and we are delighted to be able to honour his humanitarian work at this special event.’
The actress hosted the 2013 Global Gift Gala Paris with event co-chairs Nikos Aliagas and founder of charitable organization The GREAT Initiative, Karen Ruimy. All money raised at the event – which includes a cocktail reception, entertainment, dinner, a live auction, special performances and tribute to award winners – will benefit The Eva Longoria Foundation and The GREAT Initiative, and is the first in a series of charitable events to be carried out throughout the year.
