While some celebrities prefer to date just A-listers, to avoid having to date people who might be fans, others are happier in marriages with someone who already loved them after seeing them on the big screen or on TV.

Check out some of the biggest celebrities who married their fans. Their spouses either went into showbiz later, or they’re just regular people who really lucked out by marrying their celebrity crush.

Luciana Bozán Barroso and Matt Damon got married in 2005, after two years of dating. The Argentine met the actor while working as a bartender. While Luciana admired him, she was definitely not a crazed fan. In fact, she helped him escape from other fans who were following him in Miami.  Things worked out great for the two, they have 3 children together and Matt Damon also adopted Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship.

Anne Hathaway

The Academy Award winning actress is also one of the celebrities who married their fans. She wed Adam Schulman, jewelry designer, actor and producer, in 2012, after dating for four years. They were introduced by mutual friends who knew he was a big fan of her, and also hoped that she’d become his fan too. It was a great match, particularly after Hathaway had previously dated a money laundering Italian businessman who was arrested right after their breakup.

Nicolas Cage

After two failed marriages, with Patricia Arquette and Lisa Marie Presley, Nicolas Cage found his better half at Los Angeles restaurant Kabuki. Alice Kim was working as a waitress at the restaurant and she was also a big fan of the actor. After getting married in 2004, they’re still together and have a son, Cage’s second child.

While Katie Holmes was already a household name on her own after “Dawson’s Creek”, she got to live out one of her teenage dreams when she married Tom Cruise. While their union only lasted 6 years and ended on a bad note, with Katie getting full custody of their daughter and moving her to New York, Tom Cruise was one of the celebrities who married their fans, and he looked pretty happy about it on Oprah’s couch.

Josh Duhamel got to be with his dream girl, Fergie, by telling InStyle magazine she’s been showing up in his dreams. When the two finally met, she asked about the dreams, and he much have given a great answer, since they started dating right away and got married five years later.

The actress became one of the celebrities who married their fans in 2008, after her nuptials with production assistant Cash Warren. The two met in 2004, on the set of “Fantastic Four”, but Warren was definitely not the creepy kind of fan. They have two daughters together, Honor Marie and Haven Garner.

While he was still married to his third wife, Camille Donatacci, of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fame, Kelsey Grammer met a flight attendant that was also one of his biggest fans. He got engaged to Kayte Walsh two months before his divorce was finalized, and married her two weeks after. They already have a daughter and a son.

Just like Katie Holmes, Kelly Preston dreamed of one day marrying the man who captured her heart from the big screen. The actress became a big fan after seeing him in “Grease”, when she was just 16, and 13 years later, she turned him into one of the celebrities who married their fans.

After winning the second season of “American Idol”, Ruben Studdard met his wife while he was signing CDs in 2006. Surata Zuri McCants and the singer married in 2008, but their union only lasted three years before he filed for divorce.

Conan O’Brien

The talk show host is also one of the celebrities who married their fans. Conan met his wife Liza Powel while shooting a sketch involving a real advertising agency. She was working there as a senior copywriter, and she was already a fan. They married in 2002 and have two children together, a daughter and a son.
