Fresh from her appearance at the Hollywood Film Awards on Friday, Nov. 14, in Los Angeles, Angelina Jolie attended the world premiere of her Oscar-buzzed war drama, Unbroken, in Sydney on Monday, Nov. 17. But she didn’t pick something from her all-black closet. Instead, Jolie, 39, jazzed things up by walking down the red carpet in a bespoke black and white lace dress, complete with a fishtail hem, courtesy of Gucci. Keeping all the focus on her elegant frock, the Oscar winner added only simple diamond jewels in the form of stud earrings, a thin tennis bracelet, and her wedding band. Of course, the mom of six’s most dashing arm candy was her husband of almost three months, Brad Pitt, who flew to Australia to be by his leading lady’s side at her premiere. Before the screening, the the pair even took time out to snap some selfies with their Aussie fans. The occasion makes the couple of 10 years’ first red carpet appearance together since their August wedding.Inside Vanity Fair’s December 2014 issue, Jolie talked about what it was like directing Unbroken, about Olympian-turned-WWII soldier Louis Zamperini. “It was an extremely moving experience to watch someone watching their own life… someone so physically strong… and they are at the stage where their body is giving up,” the second-time director said of her inspirational muse.“And yet we laughed together, and talked about his mom,” Jolie added. “And being a man of such faith, he talked about all the people he believed he would be seeing on the other side. And that it would bring him peace. After a life of fighting, he could rest.”
