Skin Care Tips for Winter

Winter Skin Care

Winter Skin CareIt is the winter season, in which skin care tips are most required. Because of the dry and cold weather, your skin suffers a lot. Hence it is very important to take proper care of your skin in winters. Here are some simple skin care tips especially for winters.

One of the most important skin care tips is using sunscreen. Sunscreen is one of the most important factors in skin treatment in winter. Do not leave using sunscreen only because summer is over. Make a habit of applying sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15 or more. Alternatively, you can also opt for a product which combines moisturizer and sunscreen.  Moisturizer proves to be the best friend of your skin all round the year but in winter particularly.

In winter’s skin care tips, another important thing is oil based moisturizer. Other lotions or creams might make your skin after a short period of time but oil based moisturizer works deeply. In winter skin care tips, timing for the application of moisturizer is very important. Apply your moisturizer at least 30 minutes to an hour before going outside. If you do not let your moisturizer get absorbed and penetrate in your skin it might not prove to be effective and all the skin care tips will be futile.

Along with skin care, usually lips and hands suffer most during the winter season. Lips get sore and chapped and hands get dry and flaky. For your lips, choose a thicker moisturizer with shea butter, jojoba butter OR avocado oil and apply it every time before going outside as well as before going to bed. Some protective and moisturizing lip care products are available as tinted glosses or balms.

While observing other skin care tips, take special care of your hands since skin on the hands is thinner than on the rest of the body. In addition, hands are often exposed to stressful or stripping factors like soaps, winds, water etc. And finally, it is a known fact that hands are among the first to show signs of aging. Best skin care tips for your hands is to choose a rich emollient-based hand care product and treat your hands to a mask two times a week.
