Black hair is threatened by some Shampoos

Black hair is precious, make sure you don’t use too much of any of these ingredients. So your black hair stays black.

There are some ingredients in shampoos that ruin black hair. These ingredients affect the black hair specifically by damaging the black hair color itself. In some cases these ingredients cause discoloring in black hair. These ingredients surprisingly are present in most black hair care products and that is not good news for black hair definitely. However the quantity of the ingredients varies in the various black hair care products. Black hair is a blessing most people like to save as long as they can. Black hair is beautiful to say the least so here are ingredients black hair needs to stay wary of:

Black hair threatening ingredient #1
Urea (Imidazolidinyl) & DMDM Hydantoine are preservatives that are releasing in nearly all store brands of skin, body, and hair care, antiperspirants, and nail polish.

Black hair threatening ingredient #2
Methyl, Propyl, Butyl, and Ethyl Paraben are weakly estrogenic. These are extremely common preservatives and are generally thought to be safe.  They are almost impossible to avoid.

Black hair threatening ingredient #3
Petrolatum and Mineral Oil are in many lip products which is ironic because the balms they are in are supposed to protect from the sun and prevent chapping. It can also cause the skin to age prematurely.

Black hair threatening ingredient #4
PEGs (PolyEthylene Glycol) and Propylene Glycol are used to thicken products. Propylene Glycol is known for its ability to penetrate the skin.

Black hair threatening ingredient #5
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate are used in shampoos for their detergent and foam building abilities. They can cause eye irritations and allergic reactions.

Black hair threatening ingredient #6
Synthetic Colors are used to make a cosmetic “pretty”. Synthetic colors may be cancer causing agents. If we’d stop buying these artificially colored products, the manufacturers would be more than happy to not have to use the colorings.Black hair threatening ingredient #7
Synthetic Fragrances cause headaches, dizziness, rashes, skin discoloration, violent coughing and vomiting, and allergic skin irritation.

Black hair threatening ingredient #8
DEA, MEA, TEA (diethanolamine, monoethanolamine, and triethanolmine) are hormone-disrupting chemicals known to form nitrates and nitrosamines.

Black hair threatening ingredient #9
Isopropyl Alcohol is found in hair color rinses, body rubs, hand lotions, after-shave lotions, fragrances, and many other cosmetics and personal care products. Ingestion or inhalation of the vapor may cause headaches, flushing dizziness, mental depressions, nausea, vomiting, narcosis, anesthesia, and coma.
