Omid Scobie, royal author and journalist, has openly admitted that discussing Meghan Markle has become “uninteresting” over time. Scobie, who is currently working on a book that will be adapted into a TV show called Royal Spin, clarified that he has no personal ties with Meghan Markle and is not her friend, despite persistent rumors suggesting otherwise.
This admission follows a report in the Daily Mail from a source who claimed that the plot of Royal Spin is similar to Meghan Markle’s account of her experiences when joining the Royal Family, with one key difference: swapping “actress” for “publicist.”
Scobie took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the speculation. He posted, “Just because it’s a catchy headline doesn’t make it true. So let’s make this clear: Royal Spin’s story and characters have nothing to do with Meghan.” He further emphasized, “As a journalist I covered the Duchess fairly, but it’s so boring to keep calling her my friend (not true) or link her to my work,” making it clear that he finds such associations unhelpful and tiresome.
His response came after continued efforts to distance himself from Meghan Markle and the narratives being built around their alleged connection. Scobie’s comments add to the ongoing conversation about his role in covering the Royal Family and the attention Meghan continues to draw in the media.
