Drew Barrymore recently shared a charming story on her talk show, revealing that her daughter and one of Adam Sandler’s daughters recently watched 50 First Dates together. Barrymore, known for her memorable roles alongside Sandler, expressed her surprise at their choice, according to Too Fab. “My daughter and Adam’s daughter were watching 50 First Dates at my house the other night,” Barrymore said. “I was like, ‘Why are you guys watching this? Don’t you get enough of me and your dad?’”

Barrymore, who shares daughters Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, with ex-husband Will Kopelman, and Sandler, father to Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 18, with wife Jackie Sandler, didn’t disclose which of their daughters joined in on the movie night.

50 First Dates, a fan-favorite romantic comedy from 2004, stars Barrymore as a woman who loses her memory daily, while Sandler plays a man determined to win her love despite her memory challenges. On her show, Barrymore also discussed the film’s original title and alternate ending. She revealed it was initially named 50 First Kisses and had a far more dramatic conclusion.

Reflecting on the original ending, Barrymore explained, “It was a drama, set in Seattle. The original ending has her saying, ‘You should go and live your life, because this is no life here.’ And he goes away, as he does, and he comes back and he walks into the restaurant, and he just sits down and says, ‘Hi, I’m Henry.’ And the film ends.”

Her co-host on The Drew Barrymore Show, Ross Mathews, expressed gratitude for the change, saying, “Thank you for changing that ending.” Barrymore’s story highlights the enduring charm of 50 First Dates and the special bond between her and Sandler’s families, who continue to enjoy the classic film together years after its release.
