TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg’s cause of death has been revealed just a week after her sudden passing at the age of 25. The social media influencer, who had amassed over 1.4 million followers, died on October 4 from complications related to asthma and Addison’s disease. The confirmation came from her family’s representative, who spoke with Today. A family source also confirmed to People that a severe asthma attack was the catalyst for her untimely death.

In the months leading up to her passing, Taylor was open about her health struggles, often posting about the difficulties she faced while searching for a diagnosis. In a particularly emotional TikTok video, she shared how she felt like she was “fighting for life every day.” Recalling a comment from a viewer, she admitted, “A girl said that I just looked like the life has been drained out of me. Honestly, for a time there, that’s true.” The New York Post reported her honesty in detailing the pain she felt while trying to manage her symptoms. She continued, “I should be in my prime. I should be able to walk to the mailbox or run, and those are just things I can’t really do right now.”

Her husband, Cameron Grigg, announced Taylor’s “sudden and unexpected” passing through an emotional Instagram post. “No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartache, especially at our age,” he wrote. Cameron praised his wife for her strength and resilience, stating, “This past year Taylor has dealt with more pain and suffering than most people do in a lifetime. And despite that, she still has been such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her.”

Cameron, who married Taylor in August 2023 after meeting her through social media in 2021, also revealed that she was an organ donor. “More than anything, Taylor would want to know that she’s continuing to save people’s lives even after she’s gone from this world,” he expressed. Despite her passing, Cameron remains determined to honor her memory, adding, “Even though her earthly body may have failed her, her memory and life will be carried on forever.”

In light of Taylor’s passing, her family launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses and other associated costs. Cameron noted that they “don’t have anything financially in order” due to a lack of insurance. As of Thursday afternoon, the fundraiser has garnered over $51,000 AUD towards its $100,000 goal.

Taylor’s last TikTok video, posted on September 26, showed her enjoying time with her dog, capturing a moment of joy amid her struggles. Her death has left a void in her family and her online community, who remember her for her courage, honesty, and the light she shared with others.

TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg’s cause of death has been revealed — less than a week after her ‘sudden and unexpected’ passing. Grigg’s family confirmed to TODAY on Thursday that the 25-year-old influencer died as a result of complications related to Addison’s disease and asthma. Months before her death, Grigg spoke about struggling with a mystery illness since last year — telling her TikTok audience: ‘I feel like I’m fighting for my life.’ Addison’s disease is a rare disorder that occurs when the adrenal glands no longer produce enough of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone, as per the Mayo Clinic. Adrenal insufficiency can be life-threatening and symptoms — which include extreme fatigue, weight loss and low blood pressure — may develop slowly or rapidly. This is no cure for Addison’s disease but sufferers typically take replacement hormones to treat the chronic condition. #taylorrousseau #tiktoker #addisonsdisease #heartbreaking
