Meek Mill has spoken out after an explicit audio recording, supposedly of him and Diddy, began circulating on social media. The Philly rapper’s name resurfaced in connection with the recording following Diddy’s recent arrest in Manhattan on September 16. The grand jury’s indictment against Diddy reignited the spread of the audio, which first gained attention earlier this year when Meek was dragged into a sexual assault lawsuit filed against Diddy by Lil Rod.
While the authenticity of the recording is in question, with many suggesting it could be AI-generated, the rumors began flooding Meek’s social media. By Tuesday, September 17, Meek had enough of the speculation and responded on X (formerly Twitter). He shared a screen recording of his notifications, many of which referenced the viral audio. One message read, “Was that really you getting your cheeks clapped by that man in the audio? You are a victim, rise up.”
In response, Meek dismissed the rumors and suggested that bots were being used in a campaign to harm influential figures like himself. “They manipulated these devices so bad,” he wrote, adding, “And I’m not with ‘them,’” without specifying who he was referring to. Meek emphasized the challenges he’s faced, saying, “N##### like me without a full school education gained world influence and a different education. I don’t even wanna be in this mix lol that’s why I never wanted to start speaking up doing good.”
He continued to explain how he feels targeted, claiming that people are trying to suppress his voice as a successful Black man. “My voice so powerful as a black man from the ghetto worldwide they want it gone! I’m a real king straight out the trenches under control of no human… they learned how to damage ‘can’t stop us’ of brands from bots and campaigns like politicians!”
In another post, Meek addressed the accusations, saying, “We’ve seen this happen to every black man… I be doing unseen black ghetto kid s### ‘now I’m gay’ lol I get it!” He also claimed that people were trying to bring him down: “It’s a lot of people hating on me on the low… they don’t play with guns they do campaigns.”
Meek further denied any involvement in the rumors earlier this year after Lil Rod’s lawsuit surfaced, linking him to the allegations. “I’m from Philly I don’t do coke or freaky ass molly… no man would ever approach me about gay activity and the whole place don’t get flipped,” he tweeted.
He concluded by saying that smear campaigns like this one are designed to disrupt the hip-hop community and asserted that he would continue to rise above the negativity.
