Going minimalistic with makeup in the summer is usually a good idea because you don’t want your face to look caked up with makeup. But girls, this doesn’t mean, that you just slick on some gloss and go! A little more effort with your makeup is needed to give you a little glimmer and shimmer throughout the day. The key is to keep eye makeup natural and makeup application to a minimum over the rest of your skin and face.
Here are some top makeup tips to help you in this holidaying season.
Daytime Chic and Shimmer
To create a sultry makeup look for the daytime, you need to stay away from heavy eye makeup colors. Instead opt for makeup which is shimmery and in tones of silver with pearlescent specks. My makeup tips for achieving this look are to sweep a light silver/white over the eyelids; I suggest trying “Shimmer shadow in Crème” by Jemma Kidd or “H&M Into The Night silver” from the palette of eye makeup colors.
Also use this makeup color along your lower lashes and smudge a little darker grey into the crease of your eyelids. Be careful with the makeup application of the darker grey eye makeup color and don’t slap on too much grey eye makeup color as you will end up going from shimmery daytime to night time glamour when you don’t want to!
No-one should be without mascara in their makeup kit, as it’s the perfect little make up tool for opening up your eyes in the day. My makeup kit, these days, contains L’Oreal mascaras and I’m loving their “Volume Million Lashes” mascara.
For you cheeks my makeup tips include applying bronzer on your cheekbones and adding a light shimmer at the same spot too. Be light handed in your makeup application. Try “Mac Mineralize in Deep Dark or Medium” for that perfect glow.
