Prince William appears to have gained the upper hand in his strained relationship with Prince Harry, as royal experts suggest the elder brother “called Harry’s bluff.” These claims were made by royal commentator Rebecca English during an interview on the Palace Confidential podcast.
According to English, the royal family’s decision not to react to Harry’s demands or threats has worked in their favor. She explained, “As regards the apology, what I think this boils down to is the royal family have called his bluff.”
English pointed out that the royal family has not responded to Harry’s grievances, either publicly or privately, despite the explosive claims made in his memoir Spare. She added, “They haven’t reacted to any of his demands or his threats… they pretty much ignored the fact that Spare had been published.”
The royal expert suggested that the family’s approach has been strategic, saying, “It’s like don’t listen, don’t make a fuss, don’t give into it, just let it through, and it’ll blow away and harmony will restore itself.”
English believes this was the right approach given the accusations made against Prince William in Harry’s memoir.
These comments come amidst reports that the relationship between the brothers remains frosty, with The Mirror previously stating that William and Harry “have not spoken for months and currently have no contact.”
