Despite her ongoing battle with cancer, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, isn’t letting her health challenges keep her from enjoying precious moments with her family. Recently, she was seen having an epic Nerf war with her children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis—during the Gone Wild Festival at Holkham Hall in Norfolk.

The festival, known for its fun and adventurous activities, became a playground for the royal family as they joined in on the Nerf battle festivities. Georgina Barron, the boss of Norfolk Nerf Parties, recalled the special visit in an interview with The Sun: “I was called to the production team’s office and told that a very special VIP family had requested to play Nerf wars… The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, arrived with friends and family.”

Barron described how the Princess of Wales enthusiastically participated in the games, saying, “The Princess of Wales grabbed a Nerf gun, ran around, and played stuck in the mud with her children.” She added that Prince Louis was especially spirited, shouting, “‘ Come on, Nerf or nothing. Let’s do this!'” Barron noted that the royal family enjoyed a “wholesome family day like any other normal family.”

Kate Middleton’s participation in the event is particularly inspiring given her recent health challenges. In March, she publicly shared that she had undergone abdominal surgery two months prior after doctors discovered that cancer had been present. She has since spent several months out of the public eye to focus on her treatment and recovery.

In June, the Princess provided an update on her health, sharing a heartfelt message along with a serene photo of herself leaning against a tree near a pond. “I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days,” she wrote. “On those bad days, you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.”

Despite the ups and downs of her treatment, Kate Middleton continues to prioritize her family, making the most of her good days to create lasting memories with her children.
