The shooting occurred just before 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of Easton Street, leaving a community in shock and two families devastated, told Fox 35 News.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the scene to find Acker suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Investigators revealed that Acker had brought a gun to the home to show his girlfriend and another friend. The three teenagers were reportedly pointing the gun at each other and posing with it when the situation took a deadly turn. At one point, Acker’s girlfriend pointed the gun at him and, tragically, pulled the trigger, fatally shooting him.

She was taken into custody on Wednesday and is now facing a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a child. The girl is currently being held at a juvenile detention center as the legal process unfolds.
