A Michigan woman has been charged with murder in connection with the tragic death of a 4-month-old baby she was babysitting. Savannah Marie Miller faces serious charges following the death of Renzi McCall in Reed City, Michigan, as reported by Cadillac News.

Initially, Miller was charged with child abuse. However, the charge was elevated to murder after Renzi was taken off life support on July 25, four days after being admitted to the hospital. At this time, it is unclear if Miller has entered a plea or retained an attorney.

Renzi’s grandfather, Jeremiah White, informed WZZM that Miller is the girlfriend of the baby’s mother. White revealed that Renzi’s body was covered in bruises, and she suffered from brain swelling and seizures before her death. Police and prosecutors told the Fox 17, News that Miller is accused of assaulting the baby while her mother was at work.

In the wake of this tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Renzi’s family, raising nearly $7,000 so far. The campaign’s organizer described Renzi as a happy, smiling baby who brought immense joy to everyone around her.

“Amber is now facing unimaginable pain and grief,” the organizer wrote. “We ask for continued prayers and support for Amber and her family during this incredibly difficult time.” As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of young Renzi and supports her grieving family.
